The Abacus is a humble & ancient arithmetic tool used to hone & sharpen the learner’s mental abilities. The thousand-year-old tool helps students to visualize numbers on a base-10 system.
Students are trained to utilize both hands with different fingers on the abacus. Researches have shown that it activates the latent lobes of the brain and increases neuron-interconnectivity in the brain. Several internationally noted research papers explored the secondary benefits of Abacus including mental capacity, intuitive thinking, problem-solving and mental endurance.
The 6-finger movement stimulates all the five brain lobes & acupoints for enhanced cognitive skills in a child.

At UCMAS, children learn & experience through our innovative learning styles. The program is developed to stimulate both sides of the brain. The methods used to teach children help them to manoeuver swiftly through every day life, along with academic & co-curricular excellence.
Forming and recalling images of numbers through abacus beads activates this style.
Listening exercises and classroom instruction helps to activate this style of learning.
Touching the Abacus and constantly moving the beads tend to utilize the sense of touch.
